I am not sure of your model number but there are Kitchenaid dishwashers with a four inch plastic piece that mounts to the drain hose pump. It can get clogged up and not perform anymore. Remove the access panel to see it. You have to take the hose off and uncrew it. Just one possiblity if your Kitchenaid has this.
