Drum not turning?

Hi,
my INDESIT washing mashine stopped working. Everything seems to be all right, just the drum is not turning. The motor doesn't seem to be burned (didn't smell or anything and the cables are attached properly and unburned). The mashine goes through the whole cycle, fills the water, warms up the water, drains it, etc. but it wouldn't turn the drum around one single time.

We thought the motor might be broken but it doesn't seem to. So do you think maybe there is some another problem in the wiring?

Thanks,
Tomas

It could be that the carbon brushes in the motor are worn. They can be replaced fairly cheaply and supposedly quite easily.

Had similar problem on a hotpoint. Could be the following, drive belt from motor to drum has slipped off/needs replacing due to snap or the spindal the drum is attached to may have snapped. New spindal kit would therefore need replacing to the back of the drum. Quite a fiddley job, cost of new spindal kit was about £45.
