vauxhall combo runs fine then cuts out. has had new fuel filter oil change stills cuts out. maybe after 30 mins driving. then will restart and might not do it till next day. or can even cut out 3 times in an hour. it has done 138k. 1996 0n a n reg.

I also had a similar problem and it was the fuel pump slowly dieing, although initially it made no noise as it progressively got worse it started to make a whining sound.

hi there had similar problem on my combo van...check the pipes coming out your sender unit on the top of fuel tank isnt rusted and holed causing air to enter your fuel system. Also check for chaffing on plastic fuel pipes. You can eliminate this by bypassing the origanal fuel system...get a gallon drum of diesel and two lengths 8mm fuel pipe, one for your main feed and one for your return. Bleed fuel system and run vehicle then let stand maybe over night and see if problem reoccurs. Cheers.
