I found that the dvd disc was getting very hot when the EZ45 was in a unit with satelite unit plus hifi unit. when I opened up the unit doors the problem improved. I then drilled some holes in the case above the dvd unit and fitted an extractor fan which reduced internal temperature and the dvd started working again.

I followed bozo4154's advice. Put in a new blank disc. The machine went into format mode which must have reset everything. Works a treat- Thanks bozo!

Just put in a Blank DVD Media, this should then reset to default settings, it is a bug in the software which may have been updated! but not sure, you can set this through OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS for the update.

Another fault could be the DVD Tray Guide jumped out of place.

Or other Major fault.

I have the same problem, same machine. Recording or playback of recorded disks won't work. To play back purchased films, documentaries, etc, change 'DRIVE SELECT' to VHS before inserting DVD. Don't know if this works for recording though.

To get rid of 'U61', probably turn it off at the wall (that's what I did) and remove any DVD, video tape or SD card in any of the drives.
