Problem with Dyson DC04 absolute power cord connection?

How do I disassemble the power cord connection? It is faulty and I need to replace or repair the connection.

put a swrewdriver down the inside of the power button then prise it upward titt the button comes off you will then see a screw take this out and pull the switch assembuly up you can now replace your power cable
