Where is the reset button on my Hotpoint DF53 dishwasher, please?

Water does not heat up and it will not go through the whole cycle - the last time an engineer looked at it he just pressed the reset button - but I cannot remember where it is - please help?

Found the red thermal reset, but it didn't work. Then found the timer had got stuck when the problem started. The timer is located at the bottom left behind the kickboard on my BF50. Carefully rotated this to the STOP position (twelve o'clock), and then restarted - Hey Presto - it works again!

My root cause was a big leak from the bottom left of the door. Too much to be a seal, must have been the float switch that only allow the machine to fill the bottom of the tank, below the door (door seals only stop water coming round when it's spraying). I added a bunch of calgon-type tablets (and here's my faux pas) added boiling water to help the process. I must have tripped the thermal cut-off (which is set at 90degC according to the engineering sheet I found in the machine) and somehow tripped up the timer.

i am trying to find the reset button on my dishwasher?

Just to confirm, my DF53 wasn't going through its cycle - just ran and ran and ran.
Fault was the thermostat.
Remove the front right hand side panel as you look at the front of the machine, and towards the rear of the machine is a circular black component, with a couple of wires attached and a small red button sticking out the top, about the size of a match head.
Pushed this in, didn't need much force, and there was an audible click.
The reset button didn't appear to move much but the 'stat was clearly reset as the machine then worked fine.

I have just fitted a new heater element to mine after getting a ALO9 fault, but the Fault continues, does it need to be reset by this button ?

anyone know where the reset button on the hotpoint fdw80 G dishwasher is, as i cannot find it
Regards Jon

The reset button is at the bottom rear of the machine inside the right hand panel on the right hand side looking at the front of the machine. You may be able to stick your hand up through the bottom of the machine, failing which you will have to remove the right hand panel. Do not forget to switch off at the mains!

I experienced the same problem with my DF53 dishwasher. After studying the paperwork stored beside the timer I removed the right side panel and found a safety thermostat located on top of the sump, above the heater element. I pressed the red reset button on the top of this thermostat and reset the timer. This did the job!.
FYI
I also discovered after further investigation (by basically stripping the sump) the heater element was covered in scale, so I cleaned this part. To do this, try some lime scale removal tablets, on a normal wash with an empty load. Try not to remove anything because it could start leaking as I found out.
