How do I get power to my CD player in my Ford Fiesta Mk2 (1986 model)??

I have a Ford Fiesta Mk2 1986. Some kids tried to hotwire it and now the stereo doesn't recieve any power. The general wiring does look ok and the fuses all seem ok but although my stereo is plugged into the 'power' lead, it receives no power. I'm not sure if it runs off the ignition or whether it runs from somewhere else but having difficulty figuring out what's causing the lack of power.

If you have a multi-meter (or test lamp) plus a wiring diagram (in the Haynes Manual) then it should be possible to trace the fault. However the quickest (+easiest ?) method to get it working is to over-wire it...ie connect the power( via an in-line fuse)by wiring direct to the battery (or better still, a fuse in the fuse box)
