how to repair a chip on the edge of a heavy glass salad bowl?

Large heavy Dansk glass salad bowl with chip on lip of bowl. Would like to repair - fill in with something that won't turn color, or perhaps file the chip down. Trying to avoid a crack in the glass.

I am able to fill in any small or large chips that have been discarded with synthetic polymers that are colourless. I also restore glass sculptures, decanters and vases. Regrind rims with chipped wineglasses etc.
I do collect and deliver within a 20mile radius from Radlett in Hertfordshire( Estimates are free)
Telephone me to talk over your problem and make a suitable arrangment.

The only real thing you can do here is to get a special glass rubbing stone - that glaziers use to rub off sharp edges - and reduce the size of the chip as much as you can. You wont be able to build the chip up with anything very well.
