cassette to cd player?

l recently bought a 1999 peugeot 406 with the standard radio/ cassette player which as you'd expect l'd like to swop for a cd player, my questions are:-
1, how do l remove the radio/cassette?

2, the hole for the radio/cassette is a lot larger than the cd player l wish swop it with, so is there a plate or some-thing you put on first?

To answer your first question you will find two small holes in the face of the stereo put two small allen keys right down inside then and squeeze them together then pull head unit. If that doesn't work pull the allen keys in opposite directions then pull.

If your new stereo is a single din then you can find a facia plate on ebay which are quite cheap. I hope this helps

To take the pug 406 radio out you need a set of keys as reg suggests. however, you can buy these keys from halfords. they look like two prongs. once out halfords also do a facia panel adaptor.

keys are £4.99
Facia £14.99 appox

Off the top of my head i don't think you need any other wire adaptors.

To remove the radio cassette, you will need two special extractors (can be found on Ebay) . It can also be done using bent wire or 4 x small screwdrivers...but it`s fiddly. SOn some radios the four extraction holes have been covered by blanks which can be screwed out using the appropriate sized Allen Key...(2)..I don`t know about a special plate. The place to ask would be the Peugeot dealer or one of the Peugeout help boards (Try searching on Googe )
