my panasonic stereo system will not reconize cds?

my panasonic system is equipped for cassettes and cds plus radio, but it will no longer reconize cds
. i put in cds but it says no cds. what could be the problem it does not know the cds are there. panasonic stereo system sa-ch52

sounds as if the cd players lens needs cleaned,if u can access the cd players laser lens it can be easily cleaned with an cotton bud and some isopropyl alcohol(tape head cleaner), if not accessable you can buy a cd lens cleaner.
