How to REMOVE STICKY TAPE FROM pvc windows please?

I cannot get the sticky procective tape off as my house is now 12 mths old (easy to peel when brand new and before it has weathered). It just peels a tiny bit, then breaks off.
PLEASE, please help me!

Petrol and a green pad will remove it easy, but wash down after to remove any residue.

Danny thanks for your response. I have tried gentle heat as well as other cleaners, etc. but no result. The adhesive seems to be stuck into the pvc. It looks dreadful.

Other ideas anyone else PLEASE??

gently apply heat from a hair dryer to the tape, this will cause it to expand slightly and become more plyable, will the peel quite easily
