My dvd recorder has recently stoppped recognising and reading blank discs - someone has asked a similar question and was told to go to http://www.liteonit.eu/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=178
and download the relevant firmware.

I've just done this and it works fine. Using Nero, just copy the unzipped file directly onto the blank CD and burn it as a disc-at-once.
In my case the file name was LNPAG028.DA3 , which is the European firmware.

It didn't solve my problem of the drive not reading or writing to recordables - still looking for an answer.
