how do you fit a radio/cd player into a Ford KA?

How do you fit a 'normal' sized radio/cd player into a Ford KA?, I have removed the factory fitted unit, and I have bought the link harness, frame and front panel. Having unsucessfully tried to fit the front panel first (ended up glueing it in as the three moulded clips failed to hold it in), only to find the rear support bracket cannot be guided in to the metal runner as it is proud of the player 'slot', and no way to get my hand in from the back. Also I cannot see anything to stop the player from just going further into the dashboard. The player is a Goodmans single cd player, basically a standard unit. Am I correct in thinking the whole thing...player, frame and front panel all fit in one go ????
