I have just sold one of these on Ebay. The stereo worked fine in my car and have never had any problems with it. When i removed it from my car i took all my cd's out and dissconected the unit. I packaged it all up with loads of bubble rap inside packed it in a box with loads of strong brown tape around it to prevent any damage in transit. I then got an email from the buyer telling me the unit doesnt work and is showing an error code 3. Could this have been caused due being handled badly? Could something have snapped inside the unit. Also does that really work by turning it on/off well holding the eject button?

I had the same problem twice last year and - this might sound a bit daft - but I solved it by just turning the unit off and on while holding the eject button down. It took a few trys as I remember. Don't know why it worked, maybe it just reboots the eject mechanism. I thought it'd be safer to eject all the CDs in the unit and then reload everything, just to make sure. Hope this helps.

How do I get my cd's out of the player when it displays an error 3 code.

The newer radio's still have the same fault. It is a VERY common problem. Don't be fooled by people saying the SONY version is better, it is mad in the same factory, using the same parts. It just has a different front and costs more!
It is a poor design and it is made worse if you play CD-R's as the mechanism is not designed for the thickness of the CD-R's which in some cases, is marginally thicker than an original CD.

Hi, i bought one of these on ebay and after about 4 months mine started saying error and like yours would not play or eject cds. We had a look and found that the bit inside for changing the cd had snapped so no cds could be played or ejected i have heard of a lot of bad info about these mine was on 12 month guarantee and after a lot of phone calls managed to get a refund. seemingly ford has realised the problems and have made some modifications to stop problems. this is only in the old style as i am aware!
It is so frustrating as its much easier to load the cds form the front of the car and still be able to use the controls at the steering wheel!
I am trying to find a newer 6006e in the hope that the probs have been modified but im not holding my breath!
Hope you get probs sorted soon
