Sony CCD-TRV118?

My video camera has no image in the record mode.It plays well in playback mode.The LCD screen is blank when recording.

im afraid the camera has a shutter which closes when in the play mode and opens in the record mode and this shutter has two blades and they have a tendency to stick and needs to be stripped down for this.
