Water Knock?

When our toilet cystern fills up there is a loud bump or knock coming from the pipes.Running the cold tap on the wash basin seems to reduce or eliminate this noise. Could it be something to do with the water pressure ?

Try replacing washer in Ballvalve. If old style brass(bs1212) then try to use a red washer as they are softer.Good luck.

either the pipes are not correctly clipped and secured or theirs a problem with your ball cock in the cistern or the water pressure maybe too high
