Thanks Nigel - had already done that to be given a French tel. no. which just rings "engaged" continuously - checking again they say it is the only contact the have !!!

Hi Brian, cant find a repair service but if you go to www.cannonservice.co.uk/hs/pages/content.do?keys=faq:page it list the UK contacts with email suggest you drop them an email and see if they know of any local service agents
