How can I fix my Peugeot 306 cd player model PU-2294B(D)?

The factory fitted radio/cd player in my Xreg 306 HDi diesel estate works fine with the the ign.key in accessory or ignition position with engine not started but when the engine is started the CD player indicates track 1 but freezes and does not play then after a short while it ejects the CD and reverts to radio. The only difference that I can see with the engine running is that the voltage increases from 12 t0 14+ volts as the alternator cuts in. Are these players voltage sensitive? Is the voltage regulator faulty?Any help appreciated.

The car was eventually referred to an auto electrical specialist who could find nothing wrong with the car electrics or the cd player. The problem was solved by fitting a new Pioneer player/radio which worked ok whether the engine was running or not so the reason for the original problem remains a mystery.

I can`t answer this particular problem but a useful starting point with any obscure fault on these modern electronics is a full "reboot.".....So if you have the Security Code for the player , then remove the battery connection (or fuse) for 5 minutes, replace it and enter the code...Then hopefully it should be OK. I`ve seen this cure a number of odd faults so it is certainly worth trying.
