Ford Mondeo CD controls not responding?

I have a 2002 Mondeo, with a Ford fitted 6000CD player installed. Until recently, only the power button and volume dial worked.

I removed the radio, checked the wiring and found it all worked, so I reinstalled it and was able to put in and listen to a CD. On the way home the same day, all buttons bar the power stopped working again.

Following advice elsewhere on this site, I unplugged the link to the steering column remote, and tried again. Still no response.

Now, as the power has also been disconnected, it's asking for my code, but the buttons to input the code don't work. Any ideas on how I can get my radio working and retrieve my CD?

It is likely that you have a fault on the front panel PCB which is corrupting the keyboard matrix. I managed to fix mine but I needed a scope to locate the problem. I fixed it by cutting out the damaged part of the tracking and replacing it with wire.
