Any time I press Play on my Cd player it says nf disc
I have tried putting in different Cds but that did not
work

a player that displays "no disc", (when all the obvious things have been tried, ie, you have put a prerecorded cd in, have cleaned it etc) will proberbly have a defective "read disc" mechanism/ curcuit. this is reponsible for reading initial data on the disc ie, how many tracks the disc has on it. this needs to be read before the player settles into play mode. unfortunately, to replace the faulty part can be more expensive than the player when parts and labour is added. in a cd player/tape deck/radio tuner from sony that i had and cost me $185 (pounds sterling), to repair the same fault as described parts and labour for this machine cost $180 (pounds sterling).
