hi i have a ford escort l reg harrier it has a seperet cd player to the main head unit , i am getting problems with the cd player it starts up automaticaly even when there is no cd in it and i have trouble turning it off at times , please any ideas ??????????

I can`t answer this problem directly but what quite often works on obscure faults is to "reboot" it. So if you have the security code then remove the fuse (or battery connection) for 5 minutes , replace...then enter the security code and hopefully everything will reset itself...Good luck !.
