How can I fix my Belling platinum db2 gas cooker?

The spark ignition switch isn't working. Gas is connected when oven and hotplates are turned on but I cannot ignite them with the built in switch and am having to use matches. The electric grill is still working.

Thank you Iain. I can't locate a pencil batter at the bottom plinth as you suggest so it looks likely to be the main spark generator...this sounds like an expensive mend?

the igniter could just work from a pencil battery, many do. if it did it would be generally be located right at the bottom plinth on front of cooker.

if not, it could have a mains spark generator unit which may of packed in.
