You will probably have to reload your sound drivers. If you have the original disk for the computer (Used to be Red) depending on how old your computer is -- it will load and follow the instructions for sound/audio. If you don't have the disk, you might try HP/support/drivers and see if it's available there. HP bought Compaq so they might have them. Hope this helps
