Remove chimney breast?

Am I allowed and is it possable to remove the chimney breast in a downstairs room

i want to open my chimney breast in the kitchen to fit oven and hob but my kitchen breast is wider than the one in the bathroom will i have to rebuild a piller in the kitchen. i have started to open it and down the left hand side in side the breast is a load of bricks just dumpt in with morter i think. any advise thanks.

Yes ,but you must support the remaining upstairs breast properly and seek approval of your work from the local council as it is structural.
