My Vokera Compact Boiler needs topping up?

When I turned the little black tap to let the water in, it came shooting out the silver flexible pipe all over the floor, I read some more in the manual and it says that the loop may need connecting first. The picture in the manual looked nothing like mine and there was only one pipe that this silver tube could of possibly fit on, so I connected it and turned on the water again, but there was no noise of water going into the boiler like it said there should be, so I stopped because I don't really know what i'm doing and don't want to break it.
Please if anyone has got any advice that would be brilliant. Thankyou.

the filling loop needs to be connected from the cold main which is the one which has a valve on it that you turned to another valve which may also have a head that requires turning before it will let water into the boiler to top it up,it is unlikely that there will be more than one place to connect the flexible tube to so i would have thought you had it connected to the right place.
