i have been given a sharp 56fw-53h tv,but no remote control with it,it is still on standby.how can i get the tv to switch on to the picture without the remote i have got a remote that will do any tv but cannot get it to work the sharp tv.any ideas please thank you

press chanel up or down button on front of tv this should take it out of standby.
