How to fixe Bissel Pro heat 2X Carpet Cleaner that does not suck up water?

Help My Bissell Pro heat does not suck up water and the clean water is staying clean and not turning dirty. I feel like I am just smearing around dirt on my carpet, even though it does look better.

I Strongly Agree , that simply cleaning the small Red (hinged) Filter ...fixed the Suction Problem for my Bissell Pro 2x ! Dirt and hair buildup , was blocking the air-flow...and apparently the Vacuum Power . Try It !

I can not get the bissell to suck up the water through the attachement part any ideal why?

I found that if you can make the little red door stay open at all times (I lean the little red "L" bar under or against it), the suction works great. Also, a small amount of petroleum jelly rubbed on the gaskets will make a better seal.

the suction on the hand tools work and the thing i call the black hole in the back/middle of the unit has suction but still no water being transfered from floor to tank.

Had the same problem...no suction. Cleaning the red filter solved my issue too. Thank you so much.

The red filter in the tank was caked over with fur.....cleaned it out and the machine is back to normal....thank you for this thread!

Thanks. Cleaning the cat hair off the red filter did the trick. I knew it still sucked, as the upholstery attachment worked! Not quite new, but working fine!

well,i just had the same problem so i took apart the bottom part, cleaned out the cat fur and saw that there are two little red things where the water gets sucked into and they were clogged with fur, cleaned it up and problem solved! i also cleaned the filter, just for good measure..hope that helps!

I have this problem and found it to be the seal between the lid and canister. The rubber o-ring was split and the plastic lid has a small stress crack. This seal must be vacuum tight or water won't be picked up. I put a thick coating of o-ring lube on the seal and the machine is working again, but not like new. Next step is to repair lid and replace o-ring. The lube I used was K&N air cleaner seal available at auto parts stores.
