Short Answer is bin it!! Don't buy JVC again.
This is a known problem on this model and JVC are well aware of it!!! It is a manufacturing fault, and was subject to a recall, but if you don't have your warranty details, good luck!
JVC are not helpful if you bought it thru Ebay or wherever, even if you have the warranty card!
There are approved repairers out there who will fix it for about £95.00 (gbp), but is it worth it when you can get brand new for about half as much again - BUT NOT JVC!!!
In the UK there is such a thing as whatever product you buy should be 'Fit for Purpose', but try telling JVC! Since product left their factory faulty, it is their responsibility, regardless of by whatever lawfull means you obtained it! I would take it thru the courts, but for being too busy...
Will I buy another JVC product? NO WAY!
