Oil Leak in Kitchenaide Artisan Mixer - Remove Chrome Ring?

I need to repair an oil leak in a Kitchenaide 5 Qt Artisan Mixer. I have the correct grease and have removed all the screws but need to detach the chrome ring around the mixing shaft. Does this just pull down? What's the best way to remove it without damaging the mixer?

The ring just pulls down. Pry it off carefully. You must then use a punch or nail set to remove the pin in the main shaft. This should allow you to remove the cover which will provide access to the remaining screws which hold the gear cover on. There is normally A LOT of grease packed in there.
