whirlpool microwave model gh6177xps touch pad error?

i have a whirlpool microwave model gh6177xps with a touch pad error, the touch pad does not work, but the buttons below it all work and the unit itself works except the touch pad. it seems to be related to humidity? in the winter it works fine, but now the humidity rises and it doesn't work. when i unplug and re plug the unit, there is an error message on the screen: y axis high, high/low, low all fail and have numbers after each. the x axis all passes, with more numbers after each heading, high, high/low, low. something is wrong, but i'm not sure which part
