Pl dump it. I had a similar problem twice. Once I went to a local shop and had it replaced for £3.50p. Incidentally, mine is a 2001R. Last week, I just plugged it in and for no apparent reason, the switch did not light up at all, so back to the same store and this time he tried to replace it but the connections on the inside have tiny springs. The whole connecting bit slipped in and he was unable to fix it. Polti offers repairs at a flat fee of £89 with no guarantee. So considering my options, probably will go and buy a new one, its not worth the effort!! I must say I am disappointed. Reading on teh net this seems to be a defect in Polti steamers!!
