My Vaillant Boiler's hot water system is "faulty"?

The hot water taps need to be on maximum to get the boiler to fire up. This means that the water doesn'rt really get hot enough. Any solution?

its either the dhw flow switch is crudded up or failing, and will need cleaning / replacing, or the inline filter on the mains water inlet to the boiler has partially blocked and will need cleaning (try the filter first)
