bonnet will not close?

ford feista 2004 lx model,seems in working order, and well oiled.but for some reason still can'nt close bonnet.

possibly when the bonnet was openthe locking catch was knocked or by mistake pushed into the locked position, to rectify have someone pull the bonnet release inside the car and with a large screwdriver or similar tool flip back the catch to open position,

Make sure both parts are free ie latch and hole bracket .

Ensure release mechanism actually moves the hole mechanism + then latches the latch part fully
