what size vent do you need in a room?

what size vent do you need in a room 12 x 12 wich would suit new ventalation regs with a 552 back boiler fitted

no good having air bricks/grills around the house anyway as they have to have at least 5mm spaces and no insect screens/mesh or any closable device.
Clear as mud as the man said,nightmare usually trying to work out existing vents.Either get 100cm2 core vent or get a new heating system which will save you money..........552 is 65% efficient as against new combi,s which must be above 90%

90cm2 i think for 552+fire. room size has diddly squat to do with it.
you need purpose provided ventilation of 90cm. 100cm2 core vent would be best route rather than holes everywhere. if you ventilation is provided by a floor grill it should add up to adequate amount mentioned above and so should the air bricks around the house. its no good having a 90cm2 floor grill with no air bricks to feed it.
