Valiant Turbomax 282 DHW not very hot?

I have had a 282 for 10 years, repaced diverter valve, diaphams, micro switches etc. The DHW supply has never been that hot even when the thermostate is turned up to 90c. The central heating has always been good. The DHW heat exchanger is clear and the water restricter is clear, but the funny thing is, when you turn the DHW on, the exchanger gets very hot, but the heat does not transfer to the DHW supply which at the kitchen sink is only 36 inches away. Any one else had this problem? Know how to fix it? Cheers, Paul.

what is the delta t of the water at the tap?

ie, how many degrees does the water temp rise from mains inlet to tap? (most manufacturers only say 35 deg increase)

also, what is the flow rate? if its too high it will not heat by this delta-t ammount

get a weir gauge and themostat and test it for flow and temp rise then we can really get into whats right and wrong with the set up

Hi Ian

The DHW exchanger is titanium not plastic, but thanks anyway.

Paul.

is it the plactic type exchanger? if so, replacement is conversion kit to plate exchanger, not too bad to fit and much better heat transfer. the old plastic type scale up.
