what size armoured cable/RCB do I need to wire a garden submersible pump?

Im installing a submersible garden water drainage pump and need to know what size armoured cable to buy and what rating RCB I need at my consumer unit?
Is there also a wiring diagram I can source?

You need to take into account LOTS of variables but
www.doesmycablelookbiginthis.co.uk does the whole calculation for you, just enter the details of your job and it will tell you the size of cable needed.

I agree with Geoff if you don't know what you're doing use a professional, you are a long time dead

use 1.5mm and 30ma rcb

Use 1.5mm armoured cable. If your house fuse board does not have an RCB then you will need one to connect to the pump.

If you are not a part P qualified electrician you are not allowed by law to do the job.

You are required to notify your work to your local building planning dept and get it certified, I suggest you contact an NICEIC registered electrician
