I have a door between kitchen and porch, and the handle mechanism seems to be broken -- at least, I can't open it. I think it's made by Truth. There's a separate deadbolt, and that's not involved. I can't see how to remove the handle to get the whole mechanism out. There are 2 screws holding the plate to the door, but removing these doesn't seem to help. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi Rob have a look at the underside of the handle just where it meets the plate, handles are sometimes fixed in place by a small grub screw, which u tighten and it nips tight onto the bar which passes through the door and into each handle, if it is one of these you will need a small allen key to undo it.
