Rover 45 Brake light failure?

All of the brake lights on our Rover 45 have failed together, I have checked all the fuses and swapped the bulb with one of the reverse light bulbs but can't find the fault. Any ideas?

BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH.CANT REMEMBER IF ITS ABOVE BRAKE PEDAL OR ONTO THE MASTER CYLENDER UNDER THE BONNET,SORRY.ANYWAY THEY ARE USUALLY CONNECTED TO 2 WIRES(PLUG)DISCONNECT WIRES.CONNECT WIRES WITH A PAPER CLIP.IF LIGHTS NOW ON.REPLACE SWITCH.U WONT GET ELECTROCUTED.
