My 17" acer tft monitor has to be switched on and off several times before it stays on.Somebody suggested it might be the psu capacitator?
I do not know what that means.Can somebody explain?Is it something that can be done easily?
If yes can somebody give me detailed instructions?

Not easily fixed unless you are an electronics engineer.

A replacement psu should sort it - get the wattage and current from the old psu and order one within the ratings from maplin or laptopspares.
