HOW CAN I STOP MY XANTIA 1.8I 1761 OVERHEATING/OVER REVVING?

I OWN A 1998 CITROEN XANTIA 1.8I 1761CC MANUAL TEMTATION 2 ESTATE
THE FAN HAS STOPPED AND THIS CAUSES THE ENGINE TO OVERHEAT IT IS ALSO SUFFERING FROM OVER RE4VVING ANY SUGGESTIONS

look on side top of rad for a brass coloured hex screw in unit with a two wire plug in terminal,disconnect plug and bridge with wire paper clip.if fan runs then renew brass doodad.radiator fan thermoswitch.
