Oh dear, it's never a good idea to try to remove the battery, and clear everything. You often make a lot more work for yourself. It would have been much better just to have edited the old prog.
Anyway, if you have done that, then you must RAM clear it and start again.
Powering up the machine in S modewith 00 held down should have worked. Make sure you hold it long enough. Most models print when cleared. If it doesn't work, what can you see on the display when you try the procedure?
