The door on my hoover machine keeps self locking after it has finished it's cycle. I've had the machine about 6 months and this is the 5th time it has happened. Not too handy when the 'guaranteed call out within 24 hours' cover can't turn up for 7 days!! Again!! Going to have to wash the load that's stuck in there every day to keep it fresh - AGAIN!
Any ideas? Is this a common fault?

I have the same problem. If you switch it to the off position it will open after a couple of minutes. Its a bit of a hassle if you are in a rush to get the washing out, but I would think a repair company would want to put a new board in or something and charge a load of cash for it. Sounds like its a common problem.

Thanks for the heads up :) this washer bought 2008 broke once within a month was wired up wrong apparently and has had 5 new door locks because of this however I didn't lightly tap I kicked it and whoopie it's open now :)

This happened to me and I've had my machine two years almost. In the end we squeezed the door trigger about six times and it opened.

My machine also has this problem, unable to get the door open also the program settings jump all over the place and now the door seal leaks. Not impressed and only six months old !!!!

Oh GRRRRRR this keeps happening on mine too! i have to confess that after doing the on/off/unplug routine etc the only only thing i found that works is giving the door handle a bit of a tap (not too hard) and tadaaa off goes the red light and the door opens

i switched the power off at the mains. removed the lid and disconected the power from the door switch, this will always work. though a bit time consuming so i always leave the lid unscrewed.

this happened several times to me. try turning the dial to off position for several minutes and then it may open. Ours is now broken for the third time-must wait a week for repair. Ours runs the cycle for about 20 minutes then starts again-in addition to the door locking fault. Bought end of January.
