My Acerlaptop screen wont turn on!?

I go to turn my acer Laptop on, and it makes a noise like its turning on, but the screen will remain black! Anyone know how to fix it?

hi
it sounds like the ram needs replacing.
usually the power comes on and the screen stays blank.
try taking out the ram and turn it on. then if u can out different ram in and try again
