laptops are, by design, hard to upgrade.
having said that, a ram upgrade will speed your lappy up and most are easy to get at.
there is usually a screw off plate on the bottom of a lappy where the ram is installed, you will first need to identify your ram and how much you have (it will most likely be so-dimm)
also, after a while of usage, computers have a habit of holding onto stuff it no longer needs, the practice of installing and removing progs does not always remove all the related files and these are kept, which in turn fills the registry up, which in turn slows the computer.
sometimes a good old format of the hard drive can make a massive difference to speed without the need to spend.
IMPORTANT:
if you decide to format remember this will erase everything on your drive so if you have important files or pics, save them all first.....and make sure you have the install/rescue/restore disk or it may not let you install.
some lappy's have specific drivers it looks for on its own restore disk, if it does not find them it will stop the install.
