i have a Pace 3000 sky plus box it is stuck in standby..and have looked all over for info..with no luck..
when i plug it in it goes to fire up and the hard drive spins in to life the lights flicker on then the standby light goes dim red then bright again back in to stand by.at no point does the system fan come on..any info would be great mail me @

You can also take the power lead out and hold the backup button on the front of the box then replace the power lead still holding in the backup button continue to hold for about 20 secs then 4 lights should light up on the front of the box wait about 10 mins these lights will go out then wait a further 2 mins and then give it a try this reboots the standby programme if this does not work then i suggest you get sky involved threaten to cancel they might waive the engineer fee good luck

I have had similar problems myself, the box would not start although the hard drive appeared to be going. I would recommend opening the box and replacing the hard drive with a new one, any standard IDE drive, I replaced my 40GB with a 80GB as thats all I had and it booted up and worked great! so replace the HDD, turn it on and wait abut a minute, then press the standby button. it should boot fine! Remember opening the box voids the sky warranty, and if its under warranty then you void it by opening it. IF ITS UNDER WARRENTY CALL SKY AND GET A FREE REPLACEMENT!
