The boards can indeed be replaced, but first you need to see if you can get original replacements.
Laminate flooring snaps together, so to replace any boards that are damaged in the middle means that all of the boards from the damaged one to the edge (which must be floating - not glued down) have to be disconnected first. Cutting out a damaged board with an electric saw and patching in a new one is never satisfactory.
