Ford KA Fascia for CD player doesn't fit - trying to replace cassette radio?

I am trying to replace the cassette player on my 1996 Ford KA with a nice new CD player - I have bought everything I need but for some reason the fascia seems slightly too small for the space where the old one went and will not stay in place.

I've tried fitting the CD player to see if that will hold it in place but it comes lose and seems very unsteady. The clips don't seem to reach to clip it into place.

Is this a common problem and does anyone have a solution or idea on how to fix this - I really want to fit my CD player as the cassette player has broken and this is a problem I did not see coming.

Thanks

How do you fit if there's no centre hole in the stereo to fit the support bracket. I've got a pioneer dehx8500dab and the fascia adapted kit from Halfords.

You need to fit the rear support bracket to the back of the Ford KA stereo fascia. It is the black bit of plastic that comes with the fascia. Passion sold me my one. Might be worth contacting them

Hi Julie, I have just had the same problem myself with my daughters KA. I have stuck the facia to the left, right of the of the c/d opening and just a dab of no nails on the top and bottom clips. I used 2 small clamps to hold the facia in place and left for 24 hours until the no nails had set.The left side of the facia is the easiest to clamp, right side as to be clamped at an angle. If you have a colour coded facia I suggest you use a piece of rag to put under the clamps on the facia face.

Hope its successful

Hi Julie, Halfords sell fascia plate adapters to make the radio fit properly
