Water enters under front door of house?

Every time it rains our new froot door has water entering the house under the door. We put towels at the base of the door and they are wet after the rain.

Hi Bob! September 08

It might not look very pretty but I have used Self-Adhesive Rubber Foam Weatherstrip on my garden patio doorstep and on the interior door frame up to a foot. This is because after torrential rain I once had water seeping under my patio door into my kitchen. I have only just applied it but it has worked!!! I chucked two full buckets of water and also sprayed water under the door. Eureka!! Not a sign of water on the inside or on the towels I had put down just in case! I bought this product from Robert Dyas. It is for all hinged doors and windows and for large gaps 5 to 8 mm. You can get strips for smaller gaps too. It comes in black and also white. I suggest that you try it on the underside of your front door so it can't be seen. Good Luck anyway!

you should have a 10yr guarantee from the company that installed the door so give them a ring.if the door has a upvc threshold check that it has drainage holes and if so check they are not blocked.check that there is a seal under the threshold (or cill if it is sitting on one). if it has an aluminium threshold check that the rubber under the door sash itself forms a seal with the threshold when the door is shut.a drip bar can be fitted to bottom of door sash so that any water that runs down sash will be diverted over the threshold
