My hotpoint WM62 won't tumble or spin?

There was a lot of flashing from the motor and having removed one of the brushes it was found to be damaged. After renewing both brushes, the drum will not turn at all. The brushes are in contact with the armature and the connection to the brushes test OK. Power to the machine is OK as the filling valves, timer and evacuation pump work OK. Any ideas please?

Thanks for those who answered my plea! I found the fault myself. When I withdrew the old carbon brush carriers I didn't see that an internal plastic covered field wire jumped across into the path of the new carbon brush on one side of the motor. This stopped the brush from contacting the commutator. Just pushing the wire to one side and pressing home the brush carrier solved the problem!! Who makes motors like this??

Have you checked if any of the soldered tracks on the timer have blown, if they seem ok then you will probally need a new motor.
