mine is the same, i actually opened the casing up and spun the disc myself manually to see if it started playing and it did, so therfor the motor has failed and will cost around £60 to fix so i am told.
so all you need to do is find a repair centre near you that will do the work and just tell them the cd player motor is broke and thats a guarantee my friend, dont let repair centre's con you, its deffinately the motor as it simply wont spin the disc, you can spin the disc manually and the motor will carry it on for you but it wont actually start the disc spinning.
